BESPOKE DRYLAPS

ASL can produce Drylaps of any width (upto 1500mm wide deckle) or quantity. The patterns can be of regular wet/dry areas or irregular patterns where the wet or dry areas are different widths. Our normal method of manufacture is to initially draw the pattern on paper and then agree with the customer that this is the correct pattern. After the customer has approved the pattern it is kept on file for future reference (specific to individual customers) so that when the order is repeated we are able to use the exact same pattern, to keep uniformity. From the agreed pattern a template is constructed and this is used on the machine to produce the required pattern.

At ASL we are able to produce drylap products using a wide variety of face materials, adhesives or release papers and films. The potential combination is limitless, we would suggest you contact us direct to discuss your specific material and drylap requirements, our technical staff are available to answer any questions or problems you may have experienced with other products.

APPLICATIONS
These types of products tend to be used for pricing applications such as "money off" labels, a vast proportion of material is also used where a tear off tag is required such as promotional labelling or garment price labels.

Adhesive Dry Area
Backing
Dry areas can be produced as narrow as 3mm wide. However the maximum width of the dry areas is dependent on the width of the wet areas. If the wet areas are too small the Drylap product will delaminate during production, as the release force will be too low to hold the construction together.

TAMPER EVIDENT & SECURITY

There are a number of different Tamper Evident Laminates available from ASL and they vary in their individual constructions dependent on the end application and degree of tamper evidence required.

The first construction is based on a very high tack adhesive coupled with a gloss clear or break-up Acetate. To improve the tamper evident performance a series of small cuts are added to the label, as the label is removed the acetate breaks into small pieces..

The second type of Tamper evident laminate utilises a very high tack adhesive and a weak or lightweight paper. Another option is to used the same high tack adhesive with coated paper, when the label is removed from the substrate the coating on the paper breaks down or the paper itself breaks down, both results leave a residue on the substrate to show the container has been tampered with.

The third type of laminate is a specialised print evident material, such as "void" labels. A special message is printed onto the film prior to the adhesive being applied, this is not visible in the finished laminate but will become evident when the label is tampered with. The label can then not be replaced showing it has been tampered with.

The final type of tamper evident laminate incorporates Destruct PVC technology coupled with other security features; again the label cannot be re-moved once it has been applied without breaking up.
